Financial Accounts

All incorporated businesses must file annual accounts with the Registrar of Companies. Unless they are filing their first set of accounts, private companies must deliver them to the registrar within nine months of their accounting reference date.

Public companies have twelve months to do so.

If a business is filing its first accounts and those accounts cover a period of more than 12 months, they must deliver them within 21 months of the date of incorporation, if it is a private company. If it is a public company it must do so within 18 months of the date of incorporation. Alternatively they should deliver them 3 months from the accounting reference date, whichever is longer. That's it then, clear as mud.
