The scheme is designed to help businesses that would benefit from having a pool of industry specialists on tap or at the end of the telephone. "Clients can use a predefined number of on site days throughout the year where a PNC Group consultant will work in the business in areas such as strategic planning, operations, financial forecasting, coaching, Health & Safety, HR, Marketing etc" explained Cathryn Maher of PNC Group. "The client just calls on our specialists in any of the business related fields and ‘Business Assist’ kicks in. What makes Business Assist particularly attractive is that clients have unlimited access to a telephone helpline which can be used as often as required and it doesn’t have a premium rate number, they just call 01204 535693. For example If someone has a question about say a Health & Safety issue they just call us and they get to speak to a qualified Health & Safety consultant who will give advice at no additional cost".
Cathryn continued; "The scheme has been introduced because owners and managers tell us that they are becoming more confused about which business support organisation they should go to for sound advice. This is a very cost effective way of accessing ‘on tap’ business assistance and advice as it is needed".

Bolton based Business Development Consultancy PNC Group have been working with its client CE Instruments of Wigan to help them expand their overseas sales.
CE Instruments have enjoyed success in the UK and The Republic of Ireland selling and servicing the microstructure range of scientific instruments that are manufactured by Thermo Finnigan in Milan. As a result of the work done by PNC Group, CE Instruments have now been appointed to handle sales and servicing of instruments in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
"Like many businesses we were so busy with the day to day activities that we didn’t have the time or in house skills to work out how we could grow our market," saidTechnical Director Anthony Harrison. “PNC Group have evaluated our sales and marketing strategy and helped us to implement changes involving our service delivery, pricing and sales operation. We have already seen benefits from this new approach and I will be visiting Denmark to follow up a number of very promising enquiries in mid March. This is a significant step forward for us and PNC Group have been an invaluable in getting us here. Ours is a very specialist product in a market that is relatively unknown outside of industrial R & D laboratories and university research facilities. The new markets will be serviced from the UK and we expect to increase our workforce as a result".
Kathryn Kelly of PNC Group said "the very specialist nature of these instruments meant that we had a lot of work to do just to get a feel for them in that market. It is vital in the Scandinavian markets to deliver exceptional standards in both product and service. If you are weak in either of these you stand little chance of succeeding. We are delighted to be a part of the CE Instruments success".
